What is a Cogeneration Systems?
Cogeneration systems are systems that simultaneously generate both heat and electricity from any energy source. Since these systems are highly efficient, the efficiency of a standard thermal power plant that produces only electricity is around 30%-40%, while the efficiency of thermal power plants using cogeneration systems is around 70%-90%.
These systems are mostly used in industries such as oil refineries, petrochemical complexes, chemical plants, textile dyeing plants, paper and cellulose processing plants, wood processing plants, food production plants where energy is needed both as electricity and heat.
